old tar cottage

Great family home near beach

"Just returned from another wonderful Whitstable weekend in Old Tar Cottage. What a great house for 2 families! Superb location - our closest to the beach so far which was a real treat especially for small children. The indoor space worked really well - comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms and the children loved the extension to the kitchen which they adopted as their playroom. The house should work well throughout the seasons - very warm and cosy with central heating and carpets...we are very tempted to book for the winter! Thanks so much." Sophie Mackenzie

"Six of us stayed in Old Tar Cottage for our Annual Ladies get together. We are university friends now in our late thirties and the cottage was absolutely perfect. A hop, skip and jump to the sea, the fish market and the bars and restaurants. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The cottage had everything we needed too and we particularly enjoyed the beautiful cotton sheets! Would certainly stay again and would recommend." C Williams

"An excellent long week-end at Old Tar Cottage. We stayed at Old Tar Cottage on the cold, snowy first week-end in March! When the booking was made we received very helpful advice on the properties best suited to our party of 5 adults and an 18 month old baby. In the week leading up to the stay when snow, ice and traffic conditions made a stay look unlikely we received sympathy and understanding from the company and were offered alternative dates if needed. When we managed to arrive we had an excellent weekend. The accommodation was excellent. It was very comfortable and clean and, considering how early it was in the season, the heating and wood burning stove turned it into a cosy, comfortable home from home. The kitchen was well equipped and the various seating areas provided ample opportunity for social conviviality. Added to this the pleasure of sea front walks and the town of Whitstable itself we had a thoroughly enjoyable long week-end." J Willliams
